Free stories for children

Any child or child at heart must know classic fairytale stories, and the Storyteller app is a great and free way to access them when needed. It compiles the most popular tales in a straightforward platform easily accessible by kids and adults alike. This free-to-use lifestyle app also comes with a search bar for quicker navigation.

From Thumbelina, Rapunzel, and Pinocchio to the tale of The Snow Queen —you’ll quickly find them here. Storyteller redirects users to YouTube videos of the stories, so users should have that app for a seamless experience.

With a selection of classic stories for everyone

Classic fairytale stories are timeless pieces of literature that everyone must have heard of at least once in their lives. However, if you haven’t had the chance to do so, the Storyteller app can help you in that department. This handy little app is fully free to use and only requires a stable connection to the internet to work. Each title redirects to its particular YouTube video file when clicked.

As of now, the directory offers quite a limited selection of stories, with only most of the more popular classics available. Some of these titles include The Ugly Duckling, Peter Pan, The Three Little Pigs, and a few more. The interface is also super simplistic that it borders on having been made with little effort—the stories are smacking dab against a generic background of a dark and starry sky.

A search bar at the top makes navigating through the library easier, although this may be of little help when the one that you’re looking for is unavailable. The menu also takes too long to load, even with a strong and stable internet connection. In sum, the interface is easy to use and navigate and straightforward in design, but it’s not properly optimized to meet the needs of its users.

Simple to use yet poorly designed

Storyteller features a decent selection of classic fairytales, although the library is noticeably incomplete, and lots of popular titles aren’t available yet. Each title redirects to a YouTube video narrating the fairytale. In addition, the app’s directory of stories takes way too long to load, rendering even the search bar feature at the top useless. The super simple interface makeup also looks tacky and poorly optimized.

Softonic

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
